Oral Health Tips While On Vacation

July 17th, 2019

When you are travelling you tend to be out of your normal routine. You are not at work, there is no alarm clock and you do things a little differently but your oral health shouldn’t be something you drop during vacation. Here are a couple of tips to help you maintain good oral health while you are vacationing.

Portable Oral Hygiene Products
If you are travelling with just a carry-on look into portable products like a collapsible toothbrush, a disposable tooth flosser or a roll of floss. These items won’t take up much room in your bag.

Pack Sugar-Free Treats
When you travel it can sometimes make it a little difficult to brush your teeth after each meal, we suggest packing a few treats for your teeth. Sugarless gum will help to stimulate the flow of saliva, which helps to cleanse your teeth. Another option is you can pop a sugarless candy with green tea extract to help protect your teeth from bacteria.

Cut Down on Sweets
While we are on vacation we tend to overindulge on snacks and sweet treats more than we normally would. Do your best to limit the number of treats you have in a day. The more exposure to sweet treats the more it affects the health of your teeth.
